North London Cares is seeking a charismatic, resourceful, creative and ambitious people-person to join our core team in the post of Programme Coordinator (Social Clubs).
We're looking for creativity, perseverance, patience, leadership and positivity. The Programme Coordinator needs to be able to lead a room, have a track record of supporting creative community projects, and experience dealing with multiple tasks and challenges at the same time. You will be confident and full of energy, with an organised approach, a clear, authentic communication style and an intrinsic understanding of the power of networks and digital media.
Working closely with our existing Head of Programmes and Programme Coordinator for Social Clubs, this role will design and lead 3-4 social clubs per week – from podcast club to big dance parties to business visits – bringing people together across social, generational and attitudinal divides.
Day to day, you will regularly be out in the community, with large parts of the week spent leading events in our partner venues. But when you're not facilitating a brunch club or cultural trip, you will work from our private office in a vibrant, shared office complex in the heart of Camden Town, shaping the social clubs programme by forging new community, arts and cultural partnerships.
You will be a real people-person, able to build trust, and talk to and relate to people from all backgrounds. We need someone equally comfortable discussing any topic – from Eastenders to Brexit –with groups of older neighbours alongside busy and tech-savvy young professionals.
You will understand and be motivated by the demographics and social challenges of our home boroughs and the issues we work on. And you will also be a self-starter: someone committed, resilient, and focused working alone as well as in a team; who is passionate about further developing, improving and sustaining North London Cares over the coming years.
If that sounds like you, we'd love to hear from you.
