We're hiring! Join our team as Programme Coordinator (Love Your Neighbour)

North London Cares is seeking an enterprising and committed people-person to join our core team in this new post as Programme Coordinator (Love Your Neighbour).

Working closely with our existing Head of Programmes and Programme Coordinator for Love Your Neighbour, this role is dedicated to growing the Love Your Neighbour programme across Camden specifically.

Currently, one Programme Coordinator supports over 60 one-to-one friendships across Camden and Islington. This new role will allow us to build and expand on the current Love Your Neighbour programme – with the existing Programme Coordinator leading Islington, and the new role focusing and leading in Camden. This will allow us to reach and support more friendships, doubling the amount of people involved in the programme by April 2020.

We're looking for an authentic and creative high-quality communicator who can build lasting relationships with diverse groups and individuals - ranging from the most active, outgoing fun-loving 90-something to people with huge and complex challenges, navigating complicated situations. In your new role, you will be responsible for building, sustaining and supporting friendships between older people and young professionals, working dynamically and diligently to tackle multiple tasks, sensitivities and challenges at the same time.

Day to day, you will regularly be out in the community, meeting older neighbours joining the network for the first time, hosting evening inductions for new volunteers, making matches in people’s homes, working with colleagues across North London Cares, and holding meetings with various referral organisations and other partners key to the successful delivery of the Love Your Neighbour project and our overall vision.

We therefore need someone who understands and is motivated by the demographics and social challenges of our home boroughs and the issues we work on – and in particular who is passionate about people and can clearly promote our vision for building friendships across traditional divides in order to tackle isolation and loneliness in Camden.

If that sounds like you, we'd love to hear from you.

  • Permanent, full time role (40 hours per week)
  • Salary: £25k (plus travel)

To apply please send a CV and covering letter telling us why you’re right for this role to [email protected]

  • Applications should be received no later than 5pm on Tuesday 15th May.
  • First round interviews will take place on Monday 21st and Tuesday 22nd May, with call backs for second interviews during the week of Tuesday 29th May and a start as soon as possible thereafter.
