From walks, to runs, to cycles, there are plenty of opportunities to join a team of brave challengers and fundraise for North London Cares to help tackle isolation and loneliness across Camden and Islington.
This December, we're running in Santa suits for North London Cares.
Along with hundreds of other Santas, you will run 5km around the City, passing sights such as Tower Bridge, the Tower of London and St Pauls.
No previous experience is needed for this run. The route is relatively flat and you can either run, jog or walk. And afterwards, we will all go for a festive pint! Bring your friends, family and colleagues. It promises to be a fun way to raise money for your community this festive season!
When: Wednesday 6th December 2017, 7pm
Minimum fundraising target: £60
Billed as the greatest finish line in the world, the North London Half Marathon will see you running 13.1 miles from Wembley to Allianz Park. You’ll cross the finish line in Wembley Stadium to the roar of thousands of spectators.
There is music and entertainment on route, and a fantastic goodie bag at the end of the race.
When: Sunday 11th March 2018 (TBC)
Minimum fundraising target: £300
London is home to a brand new half marathon! On 25th March 2018, you could find yourself running 13.1 miles through Westminster and The City, taking in sights such as the London Eye, St Pauls Cathedral and the Bank of England. Run on closed roads with 10,000 other runners. And did we mention it's flat?

Minimum fundraising target: £300
If you're going to run the marathon distance, then we can't recommend taking on the Manchester Marathon highly enough. It's the flattest, fastest and friendliest route in the U.K. The race sees you heading out from Emirates Old Trafford, down to Sale and Altrincham before returning to the roaring crowd.
When: Sunday 8th April 2018
Minimum fundraising target: £500
The Snowdonia National Park is one of the most beautiful parts of the U.K, and this long weekend challenge will see you take on three different activities as you cycle, trek and kayak over 36km.
This will be a mentally and physically demanding challenge, but made all the easier with your fellow team mates cheering you on over the spectacular course.
When: Friday 27th – Saturday 28th April 2018
Minimum fundraising target: £395
The ever popular Hackney Half Marathon is back. There will be thousands of runners, pacers, live entertainment, cheering spectators and fantastic goodies. It is basically a running carnival!
Join our North London Cares’ team and take on this fun race to help us to tackle isolation and loneliness across our community.
When: Sunday 20th May 2018
Minimum fundraising target: £350
This challenge runs over just one day, but with five peaks to tackle it’s certainly no walk in the park!
Prepare for an exhausting but energising journey through the rugged and dramatic landscape of the Lake District, as you venture across 14 miles and tackle five of England’s most demanding peaks, including its highest – Scafell Pike. The group will climb to over 3,000 feet, crossing crags and moorland past the Langdale Pikes towards Scafell.
When: June 2018 (date T.B.C)
Minimum fundraising target: £275
The Cotswolds Way Challenge will be our big walk of 2018! Our North London Cares’ team will join over 2,000 adventurers who will take on the historic route from Bath to Cheltenham. There's the famous rolling hills with fantastic views out towards the Severn Estuary, and idyllic villages nestling in between. And what's more, there is fantastic support along the way and great hospitality all the way to the finish line.
Chose to walk 50km in one day, or walk throughout the night to complete the full 100km course.
When: Saturday 30th June – Sunday 1st July 2018
Registration: £60 for 50km, £80 for 100km
Minimum fundraising target: £275 for 50km or £425 for 100km
Prudential RideLondon-Surrey 100 is the most popular cycling event in the U.K as riders enjoy 100 miles of cycling on closed roads.
Starting in Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, the route heads west towards Hammersmith, Richmond Park and Hampton Court. Riders then head out to Surrey to take on challenges like Leith Hill and Box Hill before returning into London via Putney. With a spectacular end on The Mall, it's a ride to be proud of.
There is often huge demand for this race, so we are delighted to have six race spots up for grabs.
When: Sunday 29th July 2018
Minimum fundraising target: £600
Take to the Royal Victoria Dock and swim anything from 1/2 mile to 10km marathon challenge for North London Cares.
The Suunto Great London Swim takes place at the ExCel Centre, and will see thousands of swimmers battle the open water for charity. It's the U.K's biggest mass participation open water swim, and we'd love for you to be a part of it for North London Cares.
When: July 2018 (date T.B.C)
Minimum fundraising target: £250
Our partners at Action Challenge have 5 inspirational challenge events for you to take on in 2017. You can chose to run, jog or walk distances between 25km - 100km right across the U.K. It's your race, your choice! And with plenty of support, snacks and help en route, you'll find you'll have a fun and rewarding day.
If you're feeling adventurous, then you might want to check out the Open Challenges on Discover Adventure. They specialise in fundraising cycling and trekking challenges, and hold events worldwide, from Belgium to Zambia. Head to our page and choose from over 50 life-changing challenges.
If none of the events tickle your fancy, then why not look at a whole heap of challenge events? Head to Run for Charity for races of every distance right across the U.K; Cycle for Charity for a plethora of two-wheeled adventures or Sport for Charity for bungee jumps, sky dives and treks. There's plenty to choose from and a handful of events each month. You'll be stuck for choice!
Our fantastic volunteers have already done a bunch of crazy, exciting and challenging things in support of North London Cares. Sophie sweated it out in the Hackney Half. Chloe walked 100km from London to Brighton. And Tom braved a 30km obstacle course whilst wearing an oxygen mask!
