On Wednesday 24th April, North London Cares came together for the first time with our sibling charities South London Cares, Manchester Cares and Liverpool Cares to host the first ever Cares Family fundraising dinner at The Barbican.
It was a really special evening, one that reflected the unique spirit of each of our communities and celebrated the friendships that had been formed across our cities. The evening also raised money to create even more friendships across London, Manchester and Liverpool.
And to demonstrate the fun, friendship and magic that happens at each of our Cares branches, neighbours Peter, Emily, Sasha, Judith, Audrey, Gary, Ellen, Becca, Harry, Sarah and Lindsey gave the debut performance of The Cares Family, a poem written collaboratively across each of our Cares Family charities.
Check out the video below to see our poet laureates in action, performing in the iconic conservatory of the Barbican!

The performance was a highlight of the night, but it was just one moment in a wonderful evening that was attended by 170 Cares Family supporters.
We're so grateful to everyone who helped us make the night special - Pernod Ricard, Beefeater Gin and Southwark Brewing Co for treating our guests to delicious drinks; Mallow and Marsh, Eat Natural, Bird & Blend Tea Co, FastSigns and East London Printers for our wonderful tote bags, and Karmarama for making that possible; and Mckay Williamson, Valeria Valotto and all those who generously donated to our auction.
Finally, a huge thank you goes to our wonderful neighbours, who preformed so beautifully, and to the guests that came and supported The Cares Family.
