On Saturday 2nd July, 18 of our wonderful North London Cares family braved a 50km (or in some cases, 100km) walk to raise vital funds for the charity.
The London 2 Cambridge Challenge was our second mass participation challenge fundraising event. It was a hard but rewarding day, and there were a lot of smiles of pride, delight and relief at the finish line.
Fundraising for the walk was also part of the challenge, and we're chuffed with the total amount raised for North London Cares. Because of their creativity, ambition and energy, our walkers collectively raised £10,694!
What's more, along with our sister charity South London Cares, a fantastic £23,246 was raised between the Cares Family charities.
We cannot thank our challengers enough for stepping up to the challenge of fundraising with the same enthusiasm and determination as walking such a phenomenal distance. Aside from spreading the word amongst friends, family and colleagues, there were karaoke parties, bake sales and clothes swaps to help raise funds to make our activities a reality. They certainly put the 'fun' in 'fundraising'.
We're so proud of each and every one of our challengers. Thumbs up to them for their achievement, and thank you to everyone who supported our brave walkers with a donation. Whilst the blisters, exhaustion and tiredness may be a thing of the past, the memories, laughter and friendships your support has made possible will last a lifetime.
If you fancy joining us for our annual walk next year, our 2017 walking challenge will be the London 2 Brighton Challenge (27th & 28th May). To get involved, drop Emily an email or find out more on the challenge website.
