North London Cares turned 4 on Saturday 8th August. That's 1,460 days of you guys tackling isolation and loneliness in Camden and Islington; of bringing laughter and companionship to your communities. Surely we had to celebrate in style? Well, you guys - our amazing volunteers and supporters - certainly helped us to do so!
The Saturday itself was a-buzz with activity. First off, you took to Twitter, being sure to spread the good word about North London Cares:
In the afternoon, Jason bravely tackled the London Triathlon and swam, cycled and ran in aid of North London Cares:
And finally, in the evening, Lauren, Matt, Alice, Philippa & Emily joined Grace, Eadie, Ted and a big gang of older neighbours at the Peel Centre to dance the night away at 'A Dance To Remember':
And if that wasn't enough, you helped us throw our biggest birthday party to date.
200 of you showed your support at 'Band Together' at Proud Camden on Wednesday. We were treated to some outstanding spoken word courtesy of Tom Gill, awesome grooves from CRHOMA and we rocked out to Marcus Bonfanti. Man Like Me did a fab DJ set to wrap it all up too.
#4minutefix was a particular crowd-pleaser, with Tom's observations about our social-media obsessions resonating with many of you:
It was a wonderful evening and we're so chuffed so many of you joined us and had such a good time:
We were also on London Live, who featured the fundraising gig as part of their evening's broadcast. Volunteers Ellie and Fabienne shared their stories of North London Cares:
It's been a fantastic week of celebration, only made possible because of our wonderful supporters, volunteers and Cares family. Thank you for sharing a dance, a beer, a limbo, a story, a shout-out, a donation, a laugh and a smile. You made North London Cares' birthday super special, and we can't wait to see what the next 1,460 days bring!
