Cares’ Sweet Mondays happens every first Monday of the month, and is the perfect opportunity to host a bake sale to share a cupcake or cookie with your colleagues, friends or family.
All North London Cares’ activities are free for both our younger and older neighbours, and without our wonderful fundraisers, we wouldn’t be able to carry out our Social Clubs, Love Your Neighbour programme, or proactive Outreach work. And when £40 could fund a Social Club, hosting a bake sale on Sweet Mondays will help more neighbours in your community share time, laughter and friendship!
Thinking about baking at work? Why not get your colleagues involved as well. Volunteer Victoria managed to inspire her whole office to get involved by baking every week day. Her range of sweet and savoury goodies meant that her team raised an awesome £270!
And if you want to get even more creative, why not have your own star baker competition? The Centre for Ageing Better held one earlier this year, where a fabulous Pimms’ Cake won - it was great fun with fierce competition on decorations and tasting.
It’s also a great opportunity to chat about North London Cares work and why it’s important to you. Volunteer Katherine got baking and held a bake sale outside her local community centre. She not only had fun, but also met her neighbours at the same time!
So whether in the office, at home or with friends, and hold a bake sale and help more friendships across Camden and Islington possible.
