Get inside Islington… - North London Cares

This is the Culpepper Community Garden in Islington. It's a little oasis of calm, 60 seconds walk from the N1 Centre and Upper Street. It's a soothing place -- a place where people and projects can go to garden, grow vegetables and relax.

We've just visited Culpepper on the Islington Giving "Inside Islington" Tour.

The tour was a great chance to learn something new about our community, and to discover amazing groups who do inspiring work. We also visited The Parent House, which provides support in various forms for parents in the local area.

We met Eva, Jackie and Nikki -- brilliant young mums who told us of the support they get with budgeting, mentoring and training through this invaluable project.

And we heard from Help of Your Doorstep -- which, like North London Cares, identifies and supports people who need a little extra help.

As spring and the sun break out, today was another reminder that we should constantly look around us -- and get involved in the myriad of opportunities our community provides.
