Happy Older People's Day!

Last year our fantastic family of volunteers shared over 3,800 hours in the company of their older neighbours. Our volunteers sign up for all sorts of reasons: they miss their grandparents; they've met someone isolated in their area; maybe they have spare time between jobs or they've moved to London and don't know anyone. Whatever the reason for joining, the reason for staying is always the same - our volunteers love spending time with their older neighbours!

Activities vary but the most important aspect of any Social Club or Love Your Neighbour friendship is laughter. As a charity supporting lonely and isolated older neighbours, you'd think it was the volunteers cracking the jokes but, more often than not, it's Marian trying to take home a fireman, Lil playing a naughty word in Scrabble or Joan teaching the burlesque teacher new moves!

We don't think older people deserve 1 day of celebration, we think they deserve 365, and so do our ever-entertained volunteers!
