What is it?
The Big Give Christmas Challenge is the U.K's largest matched funding campaign. For seven days each year, it offers supporters of participating charities the opportunity to have their donation doubled on theBigGive.org.uk.
How does it work?
Between 12pm on Tuesday 3rd December and 12pm on Tuesday 10th December any donation made to North London Cares through the Big Give Christmas Challenge website will be DOUBLED.
This means that £10 (doubled to £20) could buy not two but four warm items for older neighbours across Camden and Islington.
How will my donation help?
We're raising money to make our North London Cares' Winter Wellbeing project possible.
Through this project we will:
Knock on the doors of over 600 older neighbours to check they are keeping warm, active, healthy and connected - and to let them know we’re thinking of them and here should they need support.
Deliver hot water bottles, blankets or thermal items to older neighbour's homes.
Signpost older neighbours to organisations who can help with keeping their homes warm and safe, give benefits advice and help reduce bills.
Arrange small grants for people in difficult circumstances who are struggling to keep their home warm.
Connect older neighbours to social activities in their area
In order to reach over 1000 older neighbours this winter we need to raise £6,000 in seven days, which will be doubled to make £12,000, and we need your help to make this happen.
