What was the first North London Cares event that you attended?
It was a music quiz in Primrose Hill. It was very near to my house and I've always loved music so I thought I would go along and have a look. Unfortunately a lot of the music was from before my time and my team couldn't compete with all the real music experts! We had a great time though and I remember laughing a lot.
What has been your favourite experience with North London Cares so far?
Definitely the 2017 Christmas Party. The neighbours all sang the songs we'd been rehearsing at the choir for the last couple of months and during jingle bells one of the neighbours turned up dressed as Santa! Everyone was having a great time and dancing and singing, it was really special.
What advice would you give to a new neighbour attending their first club?
Don't be nervous, join in with conversations, everyone is extremely friendly and willing to chat. After a few clubs you will start recognising people and they will recognise you. Before you know it you'll be good friends!
Where do you like to go in Camden or Islington to feel happy?
I like to go to a variety of fitness classes at the gym ranging from 80s aerobics to boxing. Also eating in the wonderful restaurants North London has to offer and sometimes just walking down the canal on a lovely sunny afternoon.
