What was the first North London Cares event that you attended?

The first social club I came along to was the very first sign language lesson. It was a great way to get started as we were all learning to sign our names, which made introducing myself really fun and a practical way to pick up the signs! I remember how fun everyone was and how welcome they made me feel.

What has been your favourite experience with North London Cares so far?

I loved the sign language and have recently started attending the creative writing club run by Francesca. It's been really interesting getting to hear everybody's thoughts on poetry and literature and then get to try our own ideas out. It's really surprising how much you get to find out about someone from hearing them read their work, its a lovely way to make a new friend.

What advice would you give to a new neighbour attending their first club?

I'd say don't worry about anything, everyone is so welcoming, all you have to do is come along and have a good time!

Where do you like to go in Camden or Islington to feel happy?

I recently discovered a love for karaoke and Rowans in Finsbury Park is a great place for it!
