The eagle-eyed among you may have spotted in this week's Islington Tribune that North London Cares was recently awarded a major grant to help us develop our work...
The grant of £9,000 per year, over each of the next three years, was made by theBulldog Trust/Golden Bottle initiative, and will make a big difference to our development.
It's our first really long term investment and will be used to train many of our most active volunteers to deliver NLC activities autonomously, through a tiered delivery model. That will help double our output, create a broader community of participation, and support even more older people in Camden and Islington over time.
We were proud to be one of only 7 groups that secured funding from this round of investment, out of 120 that applied from all across the UK.
That's a strong endorsement of our work from two major national trusts and will help us involve even more volunteers to do even more good work over the coming months and years.
