New Term, New Clubs!

At NLC we have one rule - NO BINGO! We don't organise clubs for over 60's - we arrange times for young professionals and their older neighbours to come together, share stories, exchange skills, experience London and feel part of a community.

A couple of hours a week, a fortnight or even a month, reminds the older residents of Camden and Islington that they're not only visible, but valued by the latest additions to their neighbourhoods. Paul, from Men’s Cooking, told the Telegraph only last week, how much he appreciates the company of the volunteers. You make the clubs what they are, and what they are is a lifeline.

This month, in addition to the usual mix of film clubs, baking groups and fun outings, we have some great new clubs to join...

• Cares Radio is coming to Camden on Saturday 5th September! Team up with your older neighbours to produce a new monthly radio show.
  

Often, when men lose their wives, they lose the person who encouraged them to socialise. Pride and fear get in the way of joining in, which is why we’re starting 2 new clubs for the men this month…

• We’re looking for male volunteers to spend the afternoon building with the boys down the shed! No experience needed, your older neighbours can show you the ropes! Spread the word to the men in your office, who are looking for a way to use their charity day. Telling friends about NLC - online or offline - is a great way to support us.

• Our new monthly 'Pub Games' club is open to anyone who would like to learn a new card trick or compete at the pool table. Join us on Saturday 19th September.
