Here at North London Cares we're not quite ready to accept that the holiday season is over. I'm sure lots of you have been away this summer and have had plenty of brilliant new experiences as a result.
In this fifth North London Stories podcast Peter, Rebecca, Ethel and Michael (pictured below) recall some fond holiday memories of their own and set about planning for more. Through the North London Stories series, we want to share some of those wonderful memories with a wider audience:
In the podcast we hear about the best of British:
"When I went to Blackpool I couldn't believe it. The lights, the trams, the fish and chips. Fantastic!" says Michael.
And we travel over to sunny Spain:
"You know when you go to Covent Garden and there's all these people standing around doing funny things, with big crowds and people taking photos with them? Well there's masses more like that in Barcelona. It's like Camden Lock without the tat! Ha!" – recalls Peter.
In fact, there's a little bit for everyone in these warm conversations between neighbours of all ages. Each of the people who star in September's podcast have joined North London Cares' monthly social club at Castlehaven Community Centre multiple times and now count each other as good friends.
