Back in July Emma, Will and Tony's shared stories of growing up amongst their siblings. There were adventures, accidents and plenty of laughs along the way. In the same social club, North London Stories regular Becca told the gang a lovely tale about her Grandpa...and his boat.
He actually designed and built the first passenger catamaran in Europe...
"It's still on the Thames today. It's called the Suerita - named after my mum Suzanne and her friend Rita."
And that's not the only story Becca had about her Grandpa. His creativity when it came to restoring boats led to lots of laughter in the Castlehaven studio! A big thank you to Becca for sharing such a personal story and the photos to go with it. Below you'll see her mum and Grandpa during the grand opening of the Suerita by a pageant queen. Fantastic.
The club meet once a month to share their tales, but the stories that come to life in the recording booth make a lasting impression. Becca loves it when she catches a glimpse of the Suerita on the Thames and now her mate Ray is going to look out for it too!
