Our March champions

Spring has finally arrived to north London, and friendships continue to bloom across our patch. But without our amazing volunteers and supporters, very little of this would be possible.

Earlier this month, challenger Conor ran 13.1 miles during the Hampton Court Half Marathon and smashed his fundraising target, raising an awesome £462.46 for his community.

Meanwhile, Kieran swam, ran and cycled in Snowdonia before taking on an epic climb up snowy Snowdon for neighbours like Tharok and Lester.

Thank you, Conor and Kieran, you truly are champions!

At the end of March, ten supporters took to the kitchen and got baking for Cares’ Cake Week. Over £1,500 was raised thanks to their sweet treats, and every slice sold helped make our spring social activities possible.

A big thank you to the gang at the Centre for Ageing Better, The Collective, supporters Mary, Steven, Victoria, Amy, Katherine, Jonny, the team at AOL, and the team at Octopus Investments for baking in aid of North London Cares. If you want to hold a bake sale, you can find out how fun and easy it is here.

Finally, on Tuesday 21st March, volunteers, friends, and supporters joined together at the Leicester Square Theatre for ‘Hilarity for Charity’. Stewart Lee headed up a fantastic night of comedy, and £10,507 was raised for North London Cares and our sister charity, South London Cares.

We are very grateful to our friends who donated prizes for our ‘Hilarity for Charity’ raffle, including volunteer Jonathan who donated a Molton Brown goodie bag, Genevieve Black who donated a beautiful necklace and our neighbours Camden People’s Theatre, Park Theatre, New Diorama, and Seen on Screen Fitness. Thank you!
