At the beginning of the month, volunteers Emilia, Kitty, and Francesca ran 13.1 miles for their neighbours in the Hackney Half! It was a warm day and our challengers took on the race in style, surrounded by the music and culture that make London such a vibrant city. Thank you to our runners!
Over the bank holiday weekend, 15 walkers took on the truly epic challenge of walking 56km or 100km from London to Brighton. With some people walking for over 24 hours non-stop, it was a hard and hot day, with blisters, aches, and pains galore. But all our walkers kept putting one foot in front of the other, determined reach the finish line.
Their bravery, courage, and sheer perseverance are remarkable and so far they have raised over £5,000! Thank you to our team of walkers, for taking on this tough challenge to ensure neighbours feel valued, vibrant and visible.
Volunteer Anna ran the Edinburgh Marathon to make more friendships – like she has with Dolly – possible. Anna and Dolly have been meeting up for two years now through our Love Your Neighbour programme, and even went out for fish and chips on Dolly’s 90th Birthday. And by running a tiring 26.2 miles, Anna has raised over £1,000 to support her Cares’ family! Thank you Anna, for helping us to make even more friendships possible.
