Shopping with substance

We popped into Waitrose on Holloway Road yesterday and were over the moon with what we saw...

Lots of our wonderful neighbours have been voting for North London Cares at the end of their shop – so much so that we’re currently marginally in the lead to earn a good share of the £1,000 Waitrose kindly gives to local community groups every month (we're in the middle column)!

A huge thank you to everyone who has supported us so far... but there is still a very long way to go, and competition is fierce – so please keep your tokens coming our way so that we can continue to:

• Support people like Iris, Lilly, Alf, Andrea, and the 60 other older people in Islington who come along to our Film Nights, Social Clubs and outings;

• Make a difference to over 150 elderly neighbours in the borough and beyond beyond who currently benefit from our care home trips and one-to-one support;

As well as giving us your tokens, we're also looking for your time. Volunteering with North London Cares makes people feel closer to their communities – and more in touch with their neighbours' everyday lives.
