Tea with London Business School

Please note: this post is 10 months old and The Cares Family is no longer operational. This post is shared for information only

Many of their friendly staff at the London Business School volunteered on the day to meet our neighbours and welcome them onsite to their grand building. Together, we enjoyed high-tea with a view from their Garden Room, spoilt for choice with an array of finger sandwiches, cakes, and scones, presented on beautifully decorated tables with fresh flowers.

Afterwards, we had the chance to explore their private gardens and take a walk in the last of the October sunshine. For us, this was the icing on the cake!

We are so glad we dodged the rain before the sudden turn in cold weather. On our way out, we were also gifted with London Business School themed Monopoly sets, pens, and badges to take home. We are still so in awe of the generosity of the London Business School. A big thank you to the LBS for hosting us, and to all the staff who made our neighbours feel welcome, visible, and valued.

Here are some comments from our neighbours:

‘This morning at the Business School was so enjoyable, very many thanks for organising and to all the lovely people who made us so welcome plus the amazing morning coffee, cakes etc and the gorgeous garden. Will take me the weekend to recover from such high living!’

‘I just thought the London Business School was great and was just amazed they wanted to do this for us. When I was younger, I hardly spoke to older people as I was busy working. I felt privileged and treated. It was a real treat and outside of my expectation.’

‘I’ve only seen the Business School from the outside, I used to drive past it every day on my motorbike years ago on my way back from work. I’ve seen it both sides now! The food and the ladies were lovely, what more you could ask for!’
