1-7 June is Volunteers’ week, which marks the perfect opportunity for us to show our appreciation of the wonderful young professionals in our network - all 3190 of them!
Since January, 276 volunteers have helped make the North London Cares community thrive by attending 110 social clubs – from helping to chop potatoes at Men’s cooking, to inviting us along to their workplace for a 'Back to work' visit. Volunteers have spent 572 hours with their Love Your Neighbour matches and we now have 54 blossoming friendships across Camden and Islington. Our younger neighbours have also run, walked, baked and pub-quizzed their hearts out, raising over £30,000 through community fundraising and events.
Our work wouldn’t be possible without the time, care and commitment given by so many people each month. And as we meet more older neighbours, host new Social Clubs and continue to grow we need even more volunteers to help keep our programmes going. So if you’re keen to meet your Camden and Islington neighbours or would like to find out how you can get involved, we’d love to hear from you!
And to all of the brilliant volunteers who are already part of the North London Cares family, thank you so much - you make this a vibrant, exciting and ever-changing community to be part of!
