When old met young

Finding common ground between young volunteers from Arsenal Football Club and our elderly neighbours...

Yesterday NLC took a group of 15-16 year olds from AFC’s National Citizen Service initiative to spend some time at St. Luke’s Community Centre with its older members.

Ahead of their GCSE results today, the young volunteers took the time to chat to their neighbours about their future plans and ambitions, and listened to the experiences of those around them.

It was great to see the group get to know one another, with the volunteers helping with lunch and taking part in bingo, dominoes and cards, whilst tending to their older neighbours' every need… including providing manicures!
