Indie Shergill - Head of Programmes

Indie is North London Cares' Head of Programmes (maternity cover), covering Laura while she's away. Indie is co-founder of social enterprise Rootless Garden and worked with North London Cares for several years before formally joining our team at the beginning of 2016.

Mike Evans - Programme Coordinator (Social Clubs)

Mike designs and delivers exciting Social Clubs across Camden and Islington. He was previously a long-time North London Cares volunteer, spending time with neighbours in Kentish Town. Mike formerly worked for Transport for London.

Rosie Clewlow - Programme Coordinator (Social Clubs)

Rosie designs and delivers Social Clubs across Camden and Islington to get younger and older North Londoners enjoying time together. Previously she studied Geography at Leeds University and was active in student volunteering and studied abroad for a year.

Helena Kipling - Programme Coordinator (Love Your Neighbour)

Helena matches younger and older neighbours through the Love Your Neighbour Programme, creating one-to-one friendships, conversations and companionship. Helena previously worked at Central Street Cookery School as part of St Luke’s Community Centre.

Victoria Buckle - Development Coordinator

Victoria supports our individual donors, coordinates fundraising events and cheers on our North London Cares' challenge fundraisers. Victoria previously worked as Project Officer (Development Team) at Citizens Advice in North & West Kent before volunteering overseas with ICS Balloon Ventures in Kenya.

Emily Clarke - Head of Development (The Cares Family)

Emily develops corporate partnerships, supports our individual donors and coordinates the fundraising strategy for North London Cares and our sister charity, South London Cares. Previously, Emily worked as Development Manager at charity Shakespeare Schools Festival.

Laura De Souza (Woodley) - Head of Programmes (on leave)

Laura oversees North London Cares Social Clubs and our Love Your Neighbour project. She also delivers many of our activities across Camden and Islington. Laura previously worked at a nursing home for disabled servicemen, and before that in TV production.

Alex Smith - Founder/CEO

Alex is CEO and founder of North London Cares and South London Cares. He was formerly an aide to Ed Miliband and editor of one of the biggest political websites in the UK. He is a governor at Holloway School and was a volunteer in Camden during the 2012 Olympics. He has been awarded two UnLtd social enterprise awards for his work founding North London Cares in 2011 and South London Cares in 2014.
