The support of our volunteers is overwhelming and there is no better example than the efforts of our Organisers - volunteers who host clubs on behalf of the charity. This Volunteers Week we wanted to say a huge thank you to these community champions and highlight their invaluable contributions.
Maria came to London when she was two years old and has lived in Islington for 83 years. She's been attending North London Cares events since 2014 and is a much loved member of the family. Read all about her adventures here

Caroline is a researcher who has been attending social clubs since July 2018. Since becoming a younger neighbour she's learnt sign language, enjoyed a cocktail party and tried her hand at creative writing! Read more about her experiences here:
Ammar was inspired to take on the Royal Parks Half Marathon after reading about North London Cares in The Guardian. However, on the lead up to race day, things didn't go as planned as injury prevented him from running. Despite this, Ammar kept going! Read more about his journey here.
Did you know that Belize is home to one of the biggest barrier reefs in the world?
Neighbours learnt this and much more when volunteer Kristen – who hails from Belize - treated them to an afternoon dedicated to her home country. From trying traditional delicacies, which Kristen had baked herself, to learning about different cultural groups, everyone felt a long way from London and could imagine being in tropical Central America!
Marlene has been attending social clubs for about four and a half years. She's an avid film watcher and likes keeping fit, meeting new friends and catching up with old friends at the Drovers film club. Read more about her here...
On Wednesday 24th April, North London Cares came together for the first time with our sibling charities South London Cares, Manchester Cares and Liverpool Cares to host the first ever Cares Family fundraising dinner.
