Always learning…

At North London Cares, we love days like yesterday. Our young professional volunteers hosted three innovative events, from Film Clubs in Community Centres to Knit & Knatter sessions in a local cafe, welcoming 30+ of their older neighbours to activities that provide new social connections, as well as cultural stimulation and understanding.

Sharing experiences, learning together…

Last week we were joined for a discussion by other local organisations working in north London to combat loneliness and isolation. As part of our work under Camden Council's Innovation and Development Fund we brought together various local service providers, thinkers and funders to share experiences and ideas, to troubleshoot, and to come up with resources that will benefit all our work -- and, most importantly, the people we work with -- in the future.

Winter Warmth 2012/2013 - The Full Report

Throughout this winter, North London Cares volunteers delivered an ambitious project to help keep our older neighbours in Islington warm, active, healthy and connected through a difficult time. It proved to be invaluable work, as local people suffered one of the coldest winters in memory, including at least 5 bitter snaps when snow fell heavily.
