Meet Rosie! She's started as the new Programme Coordinator for Love Your Neighbour in Islington. Alongside her colleague Bouchra in Camden, she can be found matching up younger and older Neighbours for friendship and fun over the phone and in person.
Tilly started as our new Outreach and Volunteer Coordinator a month ago. Here we get the chance to learn about what brought her to North London Cares.
"I've enjoyed today - I'm learning how to speak again! I've been listening to the telly, watching umpteen repeats and going for walks around the block, but there's been no-one to see." Kathy, 66. Over the last decade, North London Cares’ Winter Wellbeing project has ensured that older neighbours across Camden and Islington stay warm, safe, active and connected during the most isolating season. This year, as the coronavirus pandemic continues, our approach to our 10th Winter Wellbeing is going to have to look a little different.
"I've never met Valerie or Nish or Tony in person, but I feel like I have. It's given me a connection at a time when that's been hard to come by. It's really funny but I think of them as my phone family now and I look forward to what we are going to chat about next!" Cheryl
